exploring what happens when we sit on something soft, and how it changes slightly with our body, led me to take the change that happens in the sponge to the extreme; the “by-product” that our body creates in the sponge – that same change that happens, together with the construction of the chairs – will be planned in advance, creating a different and surprising object when sitting on it.

The chairs were also influenced by my inability to see an empty chair in a room – chairs that are lacking because no one is sitting in them.
All this led me to create an object that looks whole within the space even when no one is sitting on it.
