100% tiles

sep 16, 2004
IMPRONTA SOLARE by mattia saccani from italy

designer's own words:

My project consists of a simple, square shaped tile made of a special material wich is sensible to heat changes. This tile can be used to cover the bathroom's walls or the pavement as well and it gives its best in those places where the temperature rises and falls. As the temperature in the bathroom becomes warmer and warmer, the colour of the tile starts changing:as the heat encrease,it develops a deeper shade of red, intense and bright, wich suddendly becomes green as the temperature falls and the air becomes fresher. At the end, when the room climate is cold, the tile has a sheer and light shade of blue. The "colour changing tile" can be used in a variety of places like saunas, swimming pools and bathrooms, where the sequence of hot and cold creates a feeling of warmth or sheereness wich let the spectator to be really part of the enviroment and creates an emotional place to rest.
