Mrs. O will spend most of the day in the “Kitchen Center.”
The “Kitchen Center” is literally in the center of the house with two layered voids. Encompassing volumes are named from SPACE A to Space I. The layout of each space is in the sequence of functions in accordance with the needs and usages of the residents, and transforms from public area such as entrance and to more private area such as bedroom as you walk towards back. And the center of all space, the “Kitchen Center” functions as the control center of the house where one can see the things and air of every space.
The glass and wide aperture of the “Kitchen Center” gives diverse views which creates interactive linkage with other space visually and functionally. Furthermore, by making borders of spaces more flexible, with sliding door in this case, the space expands, contracts, or even transforms in accordance with the usage and how the time spent in house, not only at the moment but also over the ages.
