designer's own words:

Through this cart, I intend to provide shelter, storage, and mobility to the urban homeless population. The cart is very simple in its use and the size is adequate for its requirements. The top of the cart opens up to provide a bed (which can be used in conjunction with a tarp if needed); and the cart itself provides storage with removable shelving on the inside (can be accessed from front or back). Due to the simple form of the cart it can easily be mass produced out of HDPE or ABS plastic. The handle on the cart is adjustable to accomodate for any height, it also acts as support when being used to sleep. Charities and organizations can advertise on the sides to raise funds for production.
