my main goal of designing this new watch for breil was to create someting unusual. on most steel watches the wristband elements are symmetric, so when designing mago i was looking to create an asymmetric main element for the wristband. for the watch itself i have kept the round shape for a clean visual effect, but with some asymmetric details and graphics on the dials. since the main material is stainless steel i took the chance to create an unusual locking system as well, and so on the upper side of the watch i have added a rather big magnetic element which can connect to the last piece of the wristband and so lock it. this way also the wristband is formed by similar asymmetric elements, and also the watch is asymmetric with the locking magnetic piece and the wristband attachment on the lower side. this is mago: magnetic & asymmetric(o)!
