What happens when the floor and the carpet meet? The starting point of this project was the ancient, traditional craft of mosaic laying. We then searched for a way to make it more modern and accessible to all. The result is this carpet, built out of close to 10,000 mosaic stones, attached to a flexible felted carpet net. To create a softer look and finishing touch that ties in with the craft of carpet weaving, we wove in carpet twine by hand. The synergy of carpet and mosaic creates a unique look that is both familiar and new at the same time. This hybrid allows anyone to have a chic mosaic, anywhere in the home- either indoors or outdoors and you can move it whenever you want!
