designer's own words:

following the development of this project, we decided to give it the name "plaisir" since it was a joy to develop a car for the new generation who will use it. the ideas for this new renault concept came freely, like the use of solar charging body panels created out of plant based plastics that are easily recyclable. the same materials are used in the side and rear window areas and change their polarity depending on the intensity of the sun. only the front windshield is made of a clear safety glass save on weight bearing materials. otherwise, the frame of the double floor is made of a natural carbon based fibre material filled with balsa wood for more structural rigidly and light weight. the materials of the interior are all natural and no adhesives whatsoever are used. all parts are either clipped, clamped, plugged or sewn into their place. there is no electricity needed to open the windows or roof panel as they are of the sliding type like the original renault 4 both front and rear. the seats are made of a cork based material and the floor of bamboo. there are kauchuk areas surrounding the floor and are easily washable and durable in all conditions. the seat frames are made of an aluminum frame and basket weave reeds for the shape with cork inlays for the cushions and wool used in the areas where comfort is necessary. connectivity is used throughout the car with touch screens and wireless internet for the driver and all passengers. power for the vehicle comes from a highly compressed air unit of multiple storage tanks located under the double floor. in addition, the panels of the entire car are made of solar charging panels under the main skin that function whether the vehicle is stationary or in motion to charge the multiple battery units. these can also be charged by wind generators underneath the vehicle that take advantage of the wind turbulence of the wheel openings and under the vehicle. for high speeds, a diesel fuel injected wankel engine similar to the silent units used in military drones, can give an extra boost of power for the motorways. otherwise, in cities and rural areas, the car is to be emissions free and the ultimate in lightweight efficiency. so we present you with our concept - avec plaisir!
