The shadow animation lamp is inspired by shadow play and Zoetrope (a classic optical toy for animation), which are common two types of amusement in our everyday life. The idea have become realized by simple mechanism using strobe light & spinning cylinder with pattern. Shadow Animation Lamp consists of a motor part and a lighting part. The motor part is composed of a DC motor and a spinning cylinder supported on a central axis. A sequence of images at equal distance on a strip of paper is placed on the inner surface of the cylinder. The lighting part is composed of 15 5W Power LEDs & programmed to strobe at consistent frequency. The Shadow Animation Lamp is operated using 3 steps. Step 1. Before the light is on, decorative image on the lamp shade is shown and pattern on inner cylinder is invisible. Step 2. When the light is turned on, pattern on inner cylinder is projected on the lamp shade due to its impermeability of light. Step 3. The light is turned on and the cylinder starts to spin. Step 4. When strobe rate of light and spinning pattern on inner side of cylinder are synchronized, the fascinating shadow animation(above image, coin-shaped image is turning around on a vertical axis) is projected on to the lampshade. Animation effect can be varied by allowing user to manipulating spinning speed & strobing frequency of LED
