designer's own words:

this design is made of two parts: • a seating shell made of compression molded PET - polyethylene terepathalate - a plastic resin used in the manufacuring of plastic food containers and the ubiquidous water bottle. new fiber and a high content of recycled fiber are blended together with a bonding agent to create a thick felt-like blanket. under heat and pressure this blanket is compressed to form the seating shape. • a base frame of tubular and rod steel locate ond capture the seating shell. frames and shells nest separately to provide for compact shipping. • This design could be family of seating objects - ottoman, chaise....
