Mahjong tiles are traditionally made from bone and backed with bamboo. Exceedingly rare sets are made from ivory. But today, modern sets are made of various plastics such as bakelite or nylon. The value and exclusivity of these sets thus becomes cheapened compared to those made in the past. With the SWAROVSKI MAHJONG SET, the original value of mahjong tiles are revived and owning a mahjong set of SWAROVSKI crystal thus becomes a status symbol for those who own it.
