Mass production <> craft- This set discusses the absence of craft in modern mass produced objects today. My challenge was to reproduce the unique look of a hand made object on an industrial scale. In forming these 3 objects I introduced the esthetics of the 'pinching' technique from old hand made ceramics into a mass producible design. The cup, plate and bowl have all been produced from a mold and still look unique. Their finger like texture is unlike what we are used to seeing in the typical modern ceramic market. The logo Y#6jaD is the only industrial mark that can be found on the set and highlights the hand made look that characterizes the pieces.
