british designer ama darko williams is the designer of ‘3rd Leg’. a concept borne from her obsession with bone structure and its stature. the seat hints at the afterlife of recycled material and how bone in its afterlife could stand vertically, without flesh or muscle and still support the living. "the irony in the design is in the pieces used to create the chair: 3 large cow bones and industrial metal support piercing at intervals where the bone relies on man-made structure to be upheld". coming from a conceptual furniture background, and studying at the royal college of art, ama darko williams balances humour, form and seating to create a “sculp-chair”.

The material of choice is sustainable but each outcome is unique. All parts are classically and naturally repeated, so can be sustainably sourced and supplied.

‘3rd Leg’ is an early collection of furniture, providing another use for bone.
