urbankit is a small portable cardboard house that opens like a tent in a matter of seconds and is designed to address the growing phenomenon of homelessness. the kit was created in order to shelter homeless people from outdoor elements through an object that is practical, economical, and easy to use. this is made possible as urbankit is made of material that is lightweight, low cost, and fully recyclable. to further lower production costs, it is possible for urbankit to be used as an advertising vehicle, with space on the outside for advertising and slogans to be printed. our goal in introducing the world to urbankit, is to sensitize society to the homeless community and return visibility to those who, unfortunately, have become more than metaphorically invisible.
