_pendel light with arrow reflections

my aim as a lighting designer is to create original, playful and visually interesting lights. _pendel and _vaeg are two models from my first light series by _fjeldborg design. the concept of the series is to utilize the functional elements that make up a light and integrate them as a vital part of the visual design. therefore, the bulb holder and cable are not merely mandatory electrical components but instead are key elements of the design itself. another focus of the series is the utilization of the material, by limiting the manufacturing processes. the lights are made from a single sheet of laser cut aluminum, which is powder coated and bent. the bending of the lights also influences the way light is projected from them so they create eye catching and detailed light projections. the _pendel light for example creates detailed arrows that are reflected onto its surrounding environment. since my manufacturing process is laser cutting, I got to experiment and create lots of models with cardboard, which I enjoyed a lot and created this short video which sums up my design development process. enjoy!
