‘MIA’ by italian studio claudio lucchin & architetti associati is a flexible housing unit that accommodates enough space for up to four people to live in. the design is based on three main elements – a platform, moving wall and configurable, built-in furniture. the 60 square meter dwelling offers the same options for habitation that would typically fit into 110 square meters.

the functions are divided into modular parts to form a moving kitchen, two bathrooms and small storage room, sleeping rooms, and a core empty space that is occupied when the arrangement changes. the interior is transformed according to the occupants needs, during the daytime the beds fold away and at night the living and kitchen are reduced away to take up minimal space. the low-cost, prefabricated structure is a sustainable option for modern living that can be easily transported to different locations.
