based out of london, designer florian schmid has developed the cobra light; which combines the classic lampshade, known and shaped by the traditional kind of light bulb over years, with modern LED’s. keeping it simple, the aim of the project was to keep the production as minimal as possible in using only standard forms and sizes of material. value is added through a strong character of the ambient effect, alluding to the fact the bulb seems to be missing. constructed out of single strips of powder coated bent metal and brass profiles, the ‘cobra lamp’ can rotate 360 degrees around the neck of the profile.
