Señor (Mr.) coat hanger black & white

The Señor coat hanger design involves an approach to innovation from the mixture of materials that were used for the manufacture of its parts. The point of inspiration is the curved wood, evoking the style of the designs developed by Michael Thonet. But the challenge was to present this form of manufacturing from the local possibilities. Bending wood would be a complex process and implementing it in a workshop in the city would take too long, besides not being characteristic of the productive context. It was at this time when it was decided to mix materials and processes to achieve the desired innovation.

Understanding that curved wood would not be feasible, we proceeded to generate independent bent tube parts, which together with pressure on natural wood shafts turned achieved the three structural elements of the rack. The combination of the two materials, natural wood turning and cornering unions structural tube paint finish baked in different colors, generated an unexpected contrast. Therefore the rack as an object product is easy to assemble and disassemble for easy transport and packing.
