greek studio dede dextrousdesign has developed a backgammon board made of kitchen sponges which is currently on show at taf (the art foundation) in athens, greece. the project is part of the ‘once upon a sponge’ exhibition that takes the neglected everyday object and reinvents the form and use into a new public perception. the game design is identical to the real board, yet the sound absorption qualities of the material allows the activity ro produce no sound.

designboom has received this project from our ‘DIY submissions’  feature, where we welcome our readers to submit their own work for publication. see more project submissions from our readers here
