amsterdam-based footwear label filling pieces collaborates with product designer flip ziedses des plantes to create their latest showroom display in paris. rather than creating a standard commercial display, ziedses combines the brand’s three main influences into the showroom’s design: architecture, nature and urban culture. the center of the gallery displays a long row of custom designed metal cabinets forming a honeycomb-like wall, overgrown with tropical plants.

filling pieces commissioned flip ziedses des plantes to design an installation that presents their vast 400 shoe collection in a unique way, while providing a convenient method for retailers to select sneakers. additionally, the ‘inner circle collection’ features a stylized landscape of black circular marble rocks. in order to create a mystic experience, the designer installed a suspending ‘breathing light’ that slowly moves from one circle to another — upon entering the room, the circles appear equal in size, but when moving further away into the space, customers soon discover that it is in fact an optical illusion, as the circles significantly differ in size.
