‘industrieschule chemnitz’ wayfinding by gourdin & müller
german design studio gourdin & müller has concieved the branding for the conversion of the industrieschule chemnitz vocational school sports hall.
used primarily by the educational centre, the signage system addresses a young and open public that introduces characteristic elements of wayfinding
through the graphic interpretation of typography. the breakdown of the lined letter forms establishes a thematic connection to the sporting environment.
the expressions of dynamism, typical marking of lines and playing areas are reflected in the type-set modified for the project. the pictogram created
for this builds on a visual extension of the lettering.
