‘macuer house’ in zapallar by ruiz solarview from the garden

designed by chilean architect ruiz solar, the ‘macuer house’ was born as a home for the weekend, with a three bedrooms, three bathrooms, kitchen, dining and living room all in one large space. all the enviroments are within a cubic volume, with a double heights above the living room, generating an interior balcony within one of the two bedrooms located on the second floor.

moreover, a ladder was incorporated to access the second floor as a element allowing the volume to be accentuated with the new vertical space being created. oriented towards the ocean, the house is located in a northern position so the overall fabric of the house, especially the double height of living room, works as passive control of the sun’s rays, acting as natural screen for sunlight.
