k1 chair
k1 chair is challenging material perception by using a soft material like merino wool to create a solid structure as the base to sit on. rigidity is reinforced by using a traditional weaving method typically used in the wicker seats. k1 is part of the ongoing project kafeneon, an attempt to subtly re-invent iconic yet banal designs of the greek culture. Based on the inherited sense of familiarity, nostalgia & irony of the objects the aim is to question the significance of those traditional design typologies and the emotional connections they create with the user.
