‘the old vicarage’ by studio RHE

studio RHE’s recently completed old vicarage in suffolk is a perfect example of how sensitive conservation can produce a beautifully simple restoration. originally built in 1820, the original building was surrounded by a collection of structures in varying styles and levels. based on a glue-laminated timber post and beam structure, the renovation acts as a natural intervention that very lightly modifies the existing architecture. now a family home and photography studio, the new design creates a consistency and modern feel while embracing the unrefined 19th century brickwork.
