totems – modular tables by allegory at maison et objetimage © allegory

currently being presents in paris during maison et objet, totems is a collection of modular tables conceived by swiss design studio allegory. composed using three types of different elements; stack-able marble carrara stools allow to define different table foot heights. various diameters of veneered oak plates allow to define the table-radius, with insert-able anodized aluminum accessories acting as holsters to attach both the foot and the plate together.

being modular in its nature, the materials properties define a time/space relation based on architectural principles. the add-ons can easily be changed on a daily basis, the lamp can be replaced by the vase, and thus to easliy evolve from a desk to dinner table.
