this is a project of a summer house situated by a lake in brazil. the house has bedrooms, two guest-rooms (each with its own bathroom), a livingroom with a kitchen and a room for a baby-sitter. we wanted all the rooms to have a view of the lake, thus the building is U-shaped. the structure of the building consists of four layers. the outer wall facing the lake is made of wooden pillars 20 cm in diameter. the next layer is the inner wall, which divides the rooms from the corridor, and is made of wooden pillars 30 cm in diameter. the outer wall facing the road is ventilated (the pillars are 15 cm in diameter) with vertical blinds ( the blinds are between the pillars). the last part of the building’s structure is a wall fence made of thin pillars 8 cm in diameter. thanks to the radial arrangement of the pillars, the pillars of 20cm and 30cm in diameter are linked and thus create a solid wall. the four pillars (20 cm, 30cm, 15cm, and 8 cm in diameter) that form the structure of the house have been made through the division of a tree trunk in four.
