
wedid id + a: quad series
a method of reductionism was used to create this collection of wooden furniture. the forms represent the essence of the products to showcase the aesthetic form of the material.

cyprus-based industrial design studio wedid-id + a (constantinos economides, brian ward and valentina anania) have developed the ‘quad series’, which was part of the ‘ghost project’ exhibition on show at the mikser festival 2012 in belgrade, serbia. the collection includes a chair, armchair, lounge chair and bar stool. the main emphasis was put on variability and mutual cohesion of the pieces.
the ‘quad series’ was designed using simple forms with a focus on aesthetic usefulness. the designers used a method of reduction to present a collection which reflects the essence of the material and function. the wooden chairs are made of solid oak that is stained in natural or dark color with a lacquer finish. the seat and backrest is made form a single piece of fabric.
