konstantin grcic has been named ‘A&W designer of the year 2007’.
the german architektur und wohnen magazine honored him
for his approach to everyday products based on the principle of
‘new simplicity’. grcic designed the exhibition featured here, which
has taken place in cologne as part of the city's cultural programme
and coincides with the imm cologne furniture fair and off-site events.
the exhibition showcases pieces designed by grcic alongside
life-size cut-outs of himself and the italian master designer/architect
achille castiglioni. both men hypothetically discuss the objects
via LED scrolling signs that act as speech bubbles.

the show is not only concerned with the work of grcic
but is also a tribute to castiglioni. who, during his life had chosen
konstantin as the best design newcomer.
