surface's t.a.g. team
the californian magazine surface on architecture, fashion and design
rounded up 'ten avant garde' industrial designers and mounted this off-site showcase
to offer a venue for new american design talent.
names are: daniel streng, christopher streng, judy hudson and stuart basseches (biproduct),
nicole langlier (easyriderdesign), walter craven (blank&cables), giovanni pagnotta,
chris ferebee and laurice parkin (521 design), tom ghilarducci, yves behar (fuseproject)
and elizabeth paige smith.

in addition to the presentation of the newcomers, karim rashid was asked to design a landscape
of seats. 'surface scape' is a multi-level carpet/couch, where the units can be arranged any which
way by the user.
