the ‘trotzdem’ collection, designed by ingo maurer,
also defined a «choreographer of light and shadows:
three vast oval tables, entirely made with Corian® Glacier White
(4 meters long, 1.35 meters wide, thickness of the top 7 cm).
the table rests upon oval legs, also in Corian®.
two tables (’dining table and ‘flashlight table’) incorporate lighting
solutions, while the third (’flower table’) integrates small flower vases.
in the central part of the surface of each of the three tables are
a series of openings. in ‘flashlight table’, seven openings
(4.5 cm diameter) are home to a corresponding number of flashlights,
each fit with a small adjustable aluminum reflector (11 cm diameter)
clipped to the body of the light.
in ‘dining table’, three groups of four openings
(each with a 4 cm diameter) host twelve small lights,
combined with 15 small adjustable reflectors (7 cm diameter)
whose supports are innested within the surface of the table.
in ‘flower table’, 13 openings (2.6 cm diameter) host a
corresponding number of flower vases.
