VIA carte blanche grant
in the framework of this mission to promote
and valorize french creation,
every year VIA awards several carte blanche
grants to designers whose originality and
maturity of creative approach are outstanding
for the period.

stéphane bureaux has been awarded a carte
blanche grant 2002 with his project 'chair-i'.

the chair is composed of two elements:
an identical structure onto which are applied
different possibilities of covering.

folded up, the chair means less volume to
transport and store.
the system enables assemblage without screws,
it is related to the technique used for tent pegs.
the final phase of fabrication is left to the 'user'.

here are illustrated 3 proposals for forms for the
'chair-i', to show the many possibilities that it offers.
