the milky way exhibition has been a part of prague designblok since 2002, showing the work of 'future
design stars'. this years designs share the idea or experience of a journey.


formfjord, laufbahn
according to his function as a pioneer and catalyst of creative impulse on society, the designer has to
be willing to accomplish his inner mission even without a clearly drawn track to follow. laufbahn
presents you with such a clear track you will have no trouble following it

the cross country track laufbahn, a previous hit at the designmai in berlin, was created by designers
andera wald, fabian baumann and saenke hoff in collaboration with blackjune.








folkform
we have been exploring how to create new forms of expression. how do we add new value to traditional
down-to-earth materials such as hardboard masonite? what will be the result if we combine materials in
new ways?

premiering their new work as part of the design milky way, folkform have used huge masonite
presses to embed natural flowers and butterflies into masonite board creating a permanent
organic decoration.

the margareta estrabanos project tries to show how much life there is in seemingly dead things and
that nature keeps stretching its tendrils towards us











radovan martincek
in its form, a four-legged animal is close to a table, chair or cupboard

radovan martincek combines the old technique of marquetry with the modern material particleboard.
here the surface laminate has been filed away until the underlying particleboard is revealed.
