TDB - tokyo designers block under the theme 'anything goes, design flows'
date: october 9th - 13th 2003
place: aoyama, harajuku, roppongi, daikanyama, shinjuku, futagotamagawa area
http://www.tokyodesignersblock.com

TDB - over 120 design exhibitions, symposiums, events and parties are held over
5 days mainly in the aoyama area of tokyo. there are 250 designers involved of
which 110 are foreigners. the exhibits are held in shop windows, restaurants,
the UN university, the spiral building, in embassies, in courtyards and on the street.
it is a great time to be in tokyo. there are many parties, including lots of free ones
with endless wine and champagne giving you plenty of opportunities to meet other
designers and other interesting people. TDB is a venue for collaboration,
creativity, and ... ingenuity.

here is designboom's hot snapshot report.
thanks to janine parker and wolf udo wagner for taking pictures and to the designers
for keeping us updated on their work.
enjoy

nendo won the TDB award (grand prix award) with rakuyobench (=fallen leaf bench).
when you sit on this bench, fallen leaf shaped lights appear.
they change the color from green to red as time goes by. and when you leave, they also fade out and go back to the earth.
relationship among people... a trace of existence no one ever notices.
