wallinger's analysis of biblical themes and symbols:
- 'ecce homo' in the middle of the empty central gallery room
- 'ecce homo' resonates in 'life class', a series of abbandoned
donkeys
- the video 'angel', a blind protagonist recites the gospel
of st.john, spoken backwards while walking backwards
at the bottom of the upwards escalator at london's angel
underground station
- the video 'threshold to the kingdom' shows passengers
passing in slow motion through the automatic doors
at the arrivals gate at london city airport meanwhile the
soundtrack plays allegri's misere of the 51st psalm.
