ron mück (melbourne, 1958)
the artist was inspired by the fantastic
make-believe universe of star wars
to persue a career in model making,
he built up a fluency with materials
which allows him to transform with
confidence raw silicon into skin that
feels alive, but his naturalism is uncanny.
through an alteration of our physical
relationship with his portraits,
they are never life-size, their extraordinary
size make them alien.
mück seem to increasingly isolating them
within their own.
