the exhibition ’too perfect: seven new denmarks
presented shows how now danish architecture is
re-thinking “danish design, and in doing so the role
of the architect in society, with seven radical proposals
for a new global future for danish architecture.


too perfect: seven new denmarks contains seven pragmatic
utopias, each one meant to make the world a better place
to live for the majority: rules for pragmatic utopias
- solve a global problem
- be economically profitable
- show social responsibility
- be a sustainable solution

what if denmark was the port to the new europe?
superharbour/ PLOT
do five million people need more than one port?
a new superharbour on an artificial island by the
future Fehmarn bridge between denmark and germany
will make available city and housing areas worth a total
of 20 billion euros.

what if denmark farmed pharmaceuticals?
pharmland/ NORD
a widespread agriculture subsidized by the EU
occupies 62% of denmark’s land area.
if denmark is to be competitive in a free global market,
EU-subsidized farming has to be replaced by
biotechnology combined with agricultural production
– also called pharmland.

what if denmark made parenting effortless?
child inc. / kontrapunkt
low birth rates are threatening the welfare of
the future in the industrialized countries.
if the trend continues, in the year 2500 babies will no
longer be born in denmark.
kontrapunkt has designed a number of solutions that

from a global point of view tourism is one of the most
important growth sectors of the future.
denmark’s main attraction is its 7,314 km of coastline.
the architecture office SRL arkitekter further develops
denmark’s most important potential by establishing completely
new coastlines.

what if denmark had an energy bill of zero?
hysociety/ PLOT
hysociety is a global vision for a new district with an
electricity, water and heating bill of zero euros.
an urban superblock where the more energy is
consumed, the more energy is created, among other
things by means of hydrogen cars and our waste.

what if greenland was africa’s water fountain?
new greenland/ bruce mau design
clean drinking water is pouring out into the oceans as
melt water because of global warming.
bruce mau design has created a model for collecting melt
water from the ice cap and transporting it to the thirsty
parts of the world.
