the ‘durable’ city is one that accepts alterity :
the existence of the other, the past, the future, and it
allows it to flourish. we can understand or guess
the past but the future remains to be explored.
any design of the city must take into account this
durability, that is, the possibilities of a probable future.
the pavillion proposes to demonstrate a method of
exploration: a game, its unfolding and its results.
this game asked three teams of architects and landscape
architects to come up with a project in the very short
period of two days, to work directly in model form.
they had to work together. take decisions together...
and produce an urban planning project - a projected city
for 2089.
