‘métacity/métavilla’ is whether a staged performance
nor a system ‘exhibited’ - it is an area primarily to be used.
it is the ‘occupation of a palace’ meaning that the public
can experience the architectural design displayed,
and particularly assess the practical ideal being
presented, not just a utopian theory. visitors are invited
to stay there to rest, have meals, read, work and exchange.
in occupying the french pavilion and the welcome of ‘strangers’
in this unusual way, an architectural act is being performed.

a team of twenty architects (EXYZT) and ten collaborators
have built up a construction site which include sleeping dorms
for the participants, a bar, a kitchen with the finest menues,
many chill out areas with sunloungers and a viewing platform
with hammocks. and the top of the cream is a twenty-four hour
sauna on the roof with a little swimming-pool to refresh.
