the ‘cloudmobile’ smartphone by acer, to be officially revealed at mobile world congress and planned for worldwide production in late 2012, is the company’s first phone equipped with ‘acer cloud‘ processing service. the system is designed to enable users to access media and documents stored on their home PCs seamlessly via their smartphones, even when the PC is sleeping. all images taken via phone or tablet are also automatically saved remotely to the home computer.

featuring a 4.3-inch HD touchscreen, the device runs android 4.1 on a 1.5GHz dual-core processor and is HSPA+ 3G network -ready.

acer inc., the world’s fourth-largest personal computer vendor by revenues, has won two awards at the 2012 international forum (iF) design awards with its two new products, the acer cloud mobile featured here, and the LED backlit S235HL monitor. the prestigious awards were announced in a ceremony in munich on friday, february 10th, 2012. organized by the international forum design of germany,  the iF awards are widely considered an indicator of outstanding quality in design.
