in a collaboration between belgian-based 3D printing pioneer materialise and malaysian designer melinda looi, a marriage of technology and fashion come together, as asia’s very first 3D printed fashion show sheds light to the public. as an avid lover of nature and the environment, looi suggests ‘birds’ as a theme for the event,  influenced by the fascinating engineered species a collection of five avian creations are sent down the runway – face it (headgear), stand on me (wedges), her love and strength (necklace), let her shine (skirt), and open wings (cape). models showcase the concept in nude bodysuits, with equally minimalistic hair and makeup so as not to distract from the highly in-tune details and mechanisms of each outfit.
