BMW tweaks the 2016 M3 with updated connecteddrive navigation system

don’t be fooled by the understated 2016 BMW ‘M3’. from afar, it may look like any ‘3-series’, however that ‘M’ badge makes a colossal difference. other car companies use this model as a benchmark, and on its 40th birthday, its been raised just a little bit more. 

 

the updated performance icon received bolder LED head- and taillights, two refreshed exterior colors and fiercer figure. inside, luxury bucket seats, carbon fibre and chrome accents. BMW installed a new ‘connecteddrive’ navigation system with an embedded SIM card is accompanied by a boosted LTE mobile connection. the helpful ’head-up display’ shows vital information that is projected directly in the driver’s field of vision. other goodies include ‘parking assist’ that now enables automatic parallel parking and sensors for tight maneuvering in scuff filled urban settings.

the 425 horsepower ’s55’ is unchanged with a rear wheel-drive twin turbocharged straight-six and is accompanied by either a six-speed manual or a model specific seven-speed dual clutch automatic. BMW kept the electronically powered steering and controlled rear differential. the refined ‘m3’ package from munich will still make driving exhilarating, and force the competition to dig deeper to compete.
