futuristic transportation systems are already making the world a smaller place, and new technologies for hopping from place to place at lightning speeds are cropping up all the time. one of the most radical of these next-gen modes of transport has got to be elon musk’s hyperloop, a system that promises to whizz you from city to city in seconds, inside a small vacuumed pod. yet as traveling around the world becomes easier, technology companies have given little thought as to where people are going to stay when they reach their favored destination. this is a predicament that radical innovation award winner brendan siebrecht sets out to solve by combining accommodation and transportation into one simple design: the hyperloop hotel.

siebrecht, a graduate architecture student at the university of nevada, las vegas, is taking the idea of a luxury sleeper train into the future with his sustainable, modular hotel in the form of shipping containers that double up as traveling guest suites. the radical innovation award-winning design takes influence from elon musk’s devloop–a test track for hyperloop one currently in development north of las vegas. siebrecht’s concept would see 13 different hyperloop hotel stations dotted along the track connecting different US cities, namely seattle, portland, san fransisco, las vegas, los angeles, denver, santa fe, austin, chicago, nashville, washington DC, new york city, and boston. guests would be able to zoom at high speeds in between the network of cities, without even leaving their luxury hotel room.

the hotel suites ‘outfitted for luxury,’ each including an office, a living room with a flat screen TV, a bedroom and a bathroom. for a flat fee of $1,200, once settled in their luxury pod, guests may travel and dock at one of 13 hotel stations across the united states. siebrecht plans for the entire experience may be managed via a customized app, allowing customers to visit multiple cities in just a single day, all from the comfort of their luxury hotel pod.
