the bruderX’s tailgate pops open to reveal an entry door with an adjustable multi-link suspension system at the push of a button. the camping trailer’s robust 1.2 inch thick (30 mm) composite body stretches 22 ft (6.7 m) in length, and is supported by a galvanized chassis built to hold up to 11 times its weight. spanning across 6.6 ft (2 m) in width, the body has been designed to match the tow vehicle’s track, helping it navigate trails effortlessly, without the need for special tow mirrors. high-density rubber absorption mounts sit between body and chassis, isolating the composite shell from vibrations, adding a tranquil ambience to the  interior.

an important featurer of camping trailer’s design is its multi-link air suspension system covering 12 inches (300 mm) of travel. the driver can adjust the ‘EXP 6’s’ ride height while in motion using the accompanying smartphone app, setting it for low, aerodynamic road driving or high-clearance off-road navigation. the ‘EXP 6’ even includes its own snorkel system, which the australian manufacturer says sits high above the dust trail, drawing in and filtering clean air. this creates positive pressure inside the cabin, preventing dirty air from slipping past the automotive seals. the camper sets up quickly, with the top and rear hatch opening electrically, allowing access through a central entry door flanked by storage compartments, and an exterior shower.

the cabin’s interior design is clean and sophisticated, sleeping a family of four comfortably with the combination of a permanent queen bed at the front, plus a convertible sofa bed in the middle. owners can add optional suspended bunk beds and expand the size of the sofa bed for a total of up to six people. the sofa area features a table that can be mounted inside or outside, plus an LED HD television that can swivel for watching on the sofa, bed or outside. the corner bathroom houses a toilet, shower, plus a drop-down washbasin, with vanity and toiletry storage.

located on the left side of the camping trailer, its kitchen includes a stainless steel sink and diesel cooktop, both of which can be accessed from inside or outside. the fridge / freezer and storage drawer pull out with ease, and an additional countertop drops down from the other side of the kitchen cubby. a flip-up panel over the kitchen creates a small canopy, while a remote-controlled awning expands coverage. the smartphone-controlled suspension can also be used to adjust the height of the kitchen for easier cooking.

additional hardware includes a full electrical system with roof-mounted solar inverter, hot running water  (200 l – 52.8 gal capacity) spread across three tanks (up to 400 l available), interior and exterior LED lighting, multiple USB and power outlets, plus plenty of storage cabinets.

‘our brief with the EXP 6 was to design the ultimate off-road expedition trailer, not just the most capable but also the easiest to operate,’ explains dan bosschieter, one of the two brothers (bruder being ‘brother’ in german) behind the trailer. ‘setup requires nothing more than the press of a button, and regardless if you’re 6’7″ or 5’1″ tall, the kitchen will be the perfect height to suit you, as the exp-6 lowers or raises to suit your needs.’
