canon ‘EOS M’ mirrorless interchangeable lens camera

canon has released the ‘EOS M’, the company’s first mirrorless interchangeable lens camera. its 18-megapixel APS-C-sized CMOS image sensor provides  professional-quality photography and HD video capture in a newly redesigned compact body format. the CMOS hybrid system integrates the ability to 

swap lenses like its DSLR EOS counterpart, fully enabling use of 70 different canon compatible lenses by attaching it to an optional mount adapter. a 3.0 inch touch screen clear view LCD monitor utilizes a smudge-resistant coating for an easy and intuitive photo and video capture experience.
weighing around 300 grams with battery and lens, the ‘EOS M’ will be made available with two new lenses designed specifically for the new camera format – 
a 22mm f/2 STM lens and an optional EF-M 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM lens. it will be released in october 2012 for an estimated retail price of 799.99 USD.
