san francisco-based start-up coin seem to have found a million-dollar solution for replacing all your credit, debit, gift, loyalty and membership cards from cluttering your wallet or purse. ‘coin’ is a low-energy bluetooth connected device capable of storing all your card information into one place. developed with a specially engineered electronic magnetic stripe, users can swipe it like any other payment system, and works by simply flipping through a selection of multiple saved visa, mastercard or debit card accounts with the touch of a button.

the included mobile application allows you to add, manage and sync the cards on your coin. set-up is done by taking a picture of the designated card and swiping the device through a small smartphone attachment. for security, the system uses 128-bit or 256-bit encryption for all storage and communication. when paired to your smartphone, ‘coin’ can also alert you in the event that you leave it somewhere.
