coralie gourguechon has explored the construction of basic speaker systems in her latest collection of minimal and functional paper electronics. built using a series of bespoke graphic cardstock templates and components such as radio antennas, speakers, switches and 9V battery connectors, gourguechon demonstrates a visual simplification of seemingly complex circuits. designed as an interactive and educational tool, the assembly of speaker parts are made only with conductive ink pens and conductive glue. for ‘planche anatomique de haut-parleur’, an anatomical chart appears as a skinned speaker with its components left visible, visually representing their technical role. when the speaker cone is detached from the sheet, it spreads out to create mechanical amplification for the sound system. when flat, the speaker turns off.
