crayola has announced that it will be launching a new crayon based on the exciting discovery of the newest shade of blue ‘YInMn’. the vibrant pigment which was identified in 2009 by chemist mas subramanian and his team at oregon state university, will take center stage within the brand’s coloring set in celebration of the link between creativity and science.

in order to celebrate the newest member of the crayon family, crayola have launched a competition inviting participants to help name the new blue. the submission form which you can find here runs through to june 2, 2017.
