the cube ‘elite hybrid HPC SLT 29’ opens a new weight class for electric mountain bikes and won one of the 11 gold awards at berlin’s 2014 eurobike show. its unique carbon fiber frame weighs 16.9kg and was constructed in accordance to the requirements of the bosch drive unit – a 250w performance cruise engine that provides further speed assistance of up to 26kph. the motor is powered by the high capacity 400Wh battery pack that is integrated within the wide down tube and has a new shield to offer extra protection from rocks and logs. the 17, 19 and 21inch sized bikes have a DT CSW MA 3.9 straightpull wheelset with 28/32′ spokes that support schwalbe’s rocket ron kevlar lightskin front and racing ralph rear tires to withstand the intense sport demands.

the one-of-a-kind pedelec has a 15 teeth chain ring, a X12 rear thru axle and 11 speed SRAM XX1 transmission which enables a wide gear range for peak biking. the velocipede is suitable for this extreme-terrain sport by also featuring the rock shox RS-1 and the magura MT8 disk brakes that provide precise steering and helps stop the rider quickly in any weather conditions. the ‘elite hybrid’ is available in three color ways; the zeroblack, the black ‘n’ flashred and the black ‘n’ green, and received a gold award at the 27th-30th august 2014 eurobike show, with the judges saying ‘at last an e-mountain bike that’s also low in weight. with this consistently light frame, cube is pursing a different path to other suppliers and that’s something we applaud. this manufacturer has listened very closely to consumer wishes.’
