bike design. after a year of work, the speedX team with the help of frog studio, managed to completely rebuild the internal structure of a bicycle frame to re-invent the internal cable routing. the system inside the ‘leopard’ not only improves the life of cables, reducing friction and drag, but also makes it more elegant and streamlined.

knowing that cyclists love data, the ‘smart control’ fused into the handlebar offers GPS trajectory, speed, distance, cadence, altitude, calories, weather and delivers a visual report with professional analysis. with a 2.4 inch color screen that has 320×240 resolution is clearly visible even in direct sunlight so riders don’t need to squint on sunny days. the built-in battery can record for up to 800 kilometers or 40 hours and only takes 30 minutes to charge. the ‘smart control’ connects via a companion app that can easily record, save and share.

together with researches at the harbin institute of technology wind tunnel, speedX performed more than 100 airflow tests to cut air resistance and bring a more dynamic cycling experience. speedX’s desire to build the stiffest and lightest riding machine led them to obsessive extremes when constructing the carbon fiber frame. the fanatically calculated the direction, angle and thickness of every single ‘T1000’ carbon fiber placement, using complex cutting technology and scientific stacking formation to build carbon of unprecedented quality.

global design and strategy firm, frog aided to give the ‘leopard’ a stylish, simple and daring look with darkened accents and improved aesthetics. by cleverly hiding the brakes and cables in the front fork, the bike not only reduced air resistance by also minimized the styling. at just 8.4 kilograms, the frame has reinforced critical stress points giving the ‘leopard’ front fork lateral and bottom-bracket stiffness.
