los angeles-based design team hult design created ‘pavilion’, a bluetooth speaker that combines architectural aesthetic and innovative sound engineering. the ‘pavilion’ is a high-performance wireless speaker that features a beautiful and innovative modern design. it includes a wide variety of materials from architecture, some of which have not been used in speaker construction before, creating a piece of art that will not only provide superior sound and performance but will also look well in any setting.

in the process of making the speaker, hult design tried to disconnect themselves from old cliches and make an original approach from different perspectives. ‘pavilion’ has a copper finish that achieves a combination of unique material and sound.

the high-density concrete base and provides solid fixture to the speaker’s vibration. the team was captivated by the greatest modern architecture designed by mies van der rohe, ando tadao, and frank lloyd wright. hult studied how these architectural elements were constructed with modern materials and designs. the copper spiral resembles brass instrument and where the pipe boosts sound frequencies generated from the speaker enclosure into clean and warm bass. they shaped it like no other to give ‘pavilion’ its unique look while improving the performance.

‘pavilion’ has the 20W ‘peerless’ transducer, full-range sound driver and optimized enclosure design to play rich and clear sounds across any genre. the handcrafted american white oak top adds the nature’s presence and the indented buttons feels natural to the fingers. internal battery allows perfect freedom from cables and uses a simple audio setup driven by bluetooth technology that delivers high-definition sound and is compatible with iOS and android devices. ‘pavilion’ supports wireless stereo pairing to connect two ‘pavilions’ speaker as a stereo system. each set includes a ‘pavilion’ speaker, an auxiliary cable, an AC power adapter and user manual. hult design is looking for manufacturing funds through a kickstarter campaign, with plans to ship to in may 2016.
