earlier in June 2015, google CEO larry page announced an incubator for city technology entitled sidewalk labs. today the company, with a group of other investors acquired intersection; – a merged firm made up of control group and titan. the linkNYC project in new york city, will continue as planned through the joint venture called citybridge, which includes newly established intersection, qualcomm and comark. intersection developed an advanced model of linkNYC that improves the connectivity and services. with this merger and acquisition, they can promptly expand upon the same thinking and approach, and without delay, bring the communication hubs to more cities around the world.

these hubs are simple aluminum pillars that are equipped with a touch screen and gigabit wifi connection. the whole system was shaped by new york based design and technology company control group. running on android, the hubs plan on communicating civic feedback as well as allow for engagement for the local neighborhoods. for tourists visiting, ‘intersection’ will incorporate interactive maps to help find restaurants, museums and up to date entertainment hotspots. ‘intersection’ plans to bring an advanced urban connection that combines technology, user experience and interactive engagement to improve life in cities across the globe.
